Another Bee!

Home from work on Friday, I was surprised to find a bumblebee in the day-lily shoots. The garden really is coming to life. I even got some gardening tasks done this weekend, including the layout of some new vegetable beds.

I don't know if this was the bee from the other day...but it looked very comfortable inside this crocus bed...

It really did not seem to have plans to vacate anytime soon.

The bulbs are starting to put on some nice shows...

There is still a lot of bulb potential to keep me happy until the spring plants pop up.

If the temperatures cooperate next week I should get a bit of planting done...yey!

I saw a couple around my daffodils. It's nice to have them back. They must work very hard in the spring to get the hive started again after a long winter.

Perennial Gardener, It is nice to see some spring activity...the weather is still a bit frustrating...temps close to 70F one day and then back to 50F.

Hi Marnie. Our new daffodils are just opening...I guess the bees appreciate these spring blooms even more than we do. Once the dandelion blooms start, they will be even happier.

No bees yet but lots of ladybugs! Isn't this weather frustrating?!!?

Beth, they must be on the way...maybe next few warm days will help. Of course then there is the cold front - so, yes the weather is a little frustrating. :-)

Hi Chris....it is good to see bees in the garden.....for me they add something very special....

I am glad that your spring blooms are at last appearing and that you are able to get out and do whatever you need to.....

Cheryl...This is the first time I really noticed them taking advantage of our early blooms -- maybe that means some have moved in.

Finally I have gotten most of the early Spring prep and planting done. Today will be a wonderful spring day...before a bit more cold for a week :-(

Hi Chris,
Rain and cool temps have returned to my gardens. I have lots of planting to do but I will wait until May 1st....soon I will be comfortable putting the tomatoes out!
Always good to see the bees!

Sherry, we have some spring weather here...some days are very nice and they the next few are cold at night.

Your gardens are looking nice...we definitely have at least a month to wait on those tomatoes.
